Wavertree Princess

Wavertree Princess looked a picture at the sales yesterday and was a credit to Chris and his team.

However it was an indication of the state of the market that the top lot, that had previously sold for 700,000gns as a yearling, only realised 55,000gns when returned to the ring yesterday.

There was a clearance rate of only 63% with 67 lots unsold and with 56 withdrawals leaving 166 lots sold out of 289. Princess did sell but only for the minimum bid of 800gns. She was purchased by the Berkshire Trainer, Alastair Lidderdale for one of his clients who is looking to put her in foal this year and possibly race her first.

The Auctioneer tried his best by decribing her as a lovely big filly and mentioning twice that she had broken the long-standing track record for juveniles over 5f with her win at Lingfield, however without any competition in the bidding she was knocked down for the minimum bid.

We wish her new owner all the best and hope to follow her future as a mum.
