The Wavertree Directors
Anne Dawson
Anne worked in advertising before having her children, after which she ran her own sign & poster writing business. Even though she always wanted to she didn´t learn to ride until she was 30 when she then had to make up for lost time.
She has had a lifelong interest in horseracing and also has had interests in a handful of horses in training. The most successful of these being Love´s Design and Cat´s Whiskers, in addition to their nine victories the proudest ´claim to fame´ to date was Cat´s Whiskers featuring on the Channel 4 picture puzzle, a proud moment when you have named the horse personally.
It was after leaving the paddock at Newmarket´s Rowley Mile to see Whiskers run that Anne asked John Dunlop about the sale of the National Stud Owner Breeders Club horses purely as an interested member of both NS clubs. She was told by John that he had bought the colt that was to become Wavertree Boy and that he would be willing to sell him to her if she could get enough interest together. Hence Wavertree Racing Club was born and Cat´s Whiskers took his place as the honourary founder.

Carol Bushnell
Carol had her first riding lesson at the age of four and spent twelve years as a member of the West Suffolk branch of the Pony Club. She developed an interest in racing fairly early on, correctly predicting the first three places in the 1981 Grand National, although sadly not old enough to gamble at the time!
Originally from Bury St Edmunds, she has always been local to the area apart from three years running her own restaurant in Portugal. She has worked on a small local stud that breeds part-Hanoverian riding horses and has ridden Quarter horses trained in the Pat Parelli natural horsemanship method. For the last four years she has worked for a bloodstock agent in Newmarket and is currently responsible for editing pedigrees and dealing with all administrative aspects for the major Tattersalls sales.
She initially became involved in racehorse ownership in 2001, when she went to take some photographs of racehorses and finished up purchasing a share in a filly also part-owned by Anne, which was followed by shares in Wavertree Syndicates A, B, C and The Dream Partnership.
