Wavertree Racing Club latest news

The latest on Bounty

All three Wavertree horses came out of their races at Chepstow absolutely fine despite the ground conditions turning out to be less than ideal for any of them. Officially good to firm was added to the description of good however the jockeys were reporting that the conditions were 'rough'.

Wavertree Bounty was first on the card and she seemed to take the new experience very well. Her groom reported no problems in travelling and she took all the preliminaries in her stride, she went into the stalls OK and broke away steadily. Due to being drawn in stall 1 she had to race on her own at the beginning before coming across to join the rest of the pack as soon as she could. She galloped well, tackling the undulations without too much trouble before becoming quite tired in the latter stages.

Liam wasn't hard on her when he realised she was tiring, he said afterwards that it was a bit of a slog in the conditions. Whilst she was obviously green he said he was really pleased with her and that the race will do her a lot of good and that she will improve a lot for the experience

Chris was pleased with her debut and feels also that she will come on a lot for it, he was very happy with her attitude and believes that the race will prove to be a very hot maiden with some very well thought of and expensive colts taking part.

Both joth jockey and trainer felt that she would be ideally suited with more cut in the ground, if all continues to go well Chris will look for another 7f in a few weeks time.
